Who we are?
MAW Foundation is non-profit distributing wing of MAW Group of Companies established with objective of escalating, intensifying and well managing the CSR activities being carried out by group. The aim of MAW Foundation is to uplift our community and bring smiles on many faces.
MAW Foundation has identified three major sectors of social work, Community Development (Health and Sanitation, Nutrition and Drinking Water, Education and Environment, Women Empowerment), Skill Development (Livelihood Enhancement, Maintenance Training, Operator Training) and Road Safety (Safety Campaign, Road Safety Education, Support to Traffic Police, Traffic Management, Driving Institute)
What we do?
MAW Foundation has identified three major sectors of social work:
What people say about us
Sujan Neupane | Chief Executive Officer | MAW Skills Academy
Access to skill training is still limited in the country for unemployed and unskilled youth in the country and girls are further affected to the access of skill training due to economic and socio-cultural barriers. MAW Foundation partnered with MAW Skills Academy to train the girls in marketable skills with providing the scholarship for girls. The scholarship partnership led to train fifteen girls as piloting which itself is the model of breaking the ‘conventionality’ and economic/socio-cultural barriers to increase the girls’ participation in construction and mechanical sectors. Now, as the girls are working, applied for license and looking for gainful employment in JCB Operation, it is quite apparent that scholarship is not only instrumental to enroll the needy girls in training but also the great tool to break the conventional mindset so that girls can be skilled in ‘unconventional’ sectors like construction and mechanics and to increase their participation in these sectors.
Though the scholarship was piloted in Excavator Operator skill, a good model can be created if the scholarship is expanded in other ‘unconventional’ skill areas for girls which leads not only increased employment among the girls but also contributes to the positive social change.
Collaborative Schools Network
CSN is grateful towards MAW foundation for the supports that it has been providing to our partner schools. Our schools are fairly benefited in need basis in terms of Infrastructural improvements with the help of MAW foundation. As CSN collaborates with such struggling schools, we hope to continue our collaboration to reform many more schools in future.
Urgen Lama | Acting Director | Child Reach Nepal
Childreach Nepal and MAW Foundation share and align to similar mission and objectives, as the CSR partner to MAW Foundation, we were able to work together in supporting the 109 flood effected families in Chanaute Bazar, Helambu. MAW Foundation has been generous to continue supporting our work, to “unlock a child’s potential” . We would like to thank the MAW Foundation for their continued support.”
